Artwork & File Setup Guidelines

To ensure the best possible print quality for your display graphics, please prepare your artwork using the specifications below. Following these guidelines helps us deliver sharp, accurate and professional large format prints.

Preferred File Format

Our preferred supply format is a high quality print PDF from either PC or Mac software. We recommend exporting your artwork using the “High Quality Printing” setting. Before creating your PDF, please convert all text to outlines and embed all images to avoid font or linking issues. Wherever possible, include a screenshot or JPG proof so we can verify layout and content.

If you are not able to produce a high quality print PDF, we also accept the following software-generated file types:

  • Adobe Illustrator (.AI): Convert all text to outlines and include all linked images (please do not embed images).

InDesign and QuarkXPress files are not recommended for large format printing. For these applications, we only accept high quality print PDFs exported from the original document.

Artwork Templates

Ready-made PDF artwork templates for all standard graphic sizes can be provided upon request just email: sales@xpodisplays.co.uk

Image Resolution

For large format printing, the best results are achieved when images are supplied between 72–125 DPI at final print size (full size). Supplying images at a higher resolution than 125 DPI will only increase file size without any visible improvement in print quality.

Colour Setup

All colours must be set up in CMYK colour mode for accurate output on press. Converting artwork from RGB to CMYK can cause noticeable colour shifts, so please check and proof your colours before sending your files.

Pantone spot colours can be requested; however, exact matches are not always achievable in large format CMYK printing. Any reference printouts supplied will be treated as layout guides only, not as colour-accurate proofs.

If you cannot send a full colour layout, please include a JPG, screen-optimised PDF or screenshot as a visual reference and mark the filename clearly as “proof”. For solid black areas, please use standard Process Black.

File Transfer

To keep uploads efficient and reduce the risk of file corruption, please compress your artwork into a single .sit, .rar or .zip archive before sending. Files can be emailed directly to sales@xpodisplays.co.uk
